She is publicly funded by NERC, the UK's leading public funded of environmental science. Dr. Jackie Stroud
Principal Investigator, NERC Soil Security Fellow
Dr. Jackie Stroud, won the Lyell Scholarship to attend RHUL and obtained a First class Bachelors degree in Environmental Geology, winning both the Tennant medal and Environmental Geology Prize. She moved to Lancaster University for her NERC CASE funded PhD (with Remedios) and published seven papers from her thesis on the microbial bioavailability of pesticides and hydrocarbon pollutants in soils.
Dr Stroud undertook postdoctoral training at Rothamsted Research (UK) and the University of New South Wales (Australia), publishing over 35 articles, before returning to Rothamsted Research as a NERC fellow. She is the first person to hold a NERC fellowship at Rothamsted, winning one of the three soil security fellowships in the country. All publications can be found here.
